Salary: Up to £35k depending on experience.

Status: Full time permanent - 35 hours per week

The business successful and growing event registration agency based in Fleet, Hampshire. They are recruiting for two experienced PHP developers to work within our busy development team, producing complex, bespoke event registration websites and sophisticated web based tools. You will have event industry exposure and/or have worked within an agency environment.

You will develop, support and enhance an existing PHP 5 / MVC / Oracle framework that is used to generate client websites; as well developing associated toolsets, functionality and innovative technology solutions that support and enhance our client's events. The role will be made up of a mix of developing business logic and functionality, SQL database programming, intuitive user interfaces and general all round system development. Any experience of Linux, Apache and PHP system administration, although not required, would be a bonus.

These roles require you to work closely with their development colleagues, internal project teams and occasionally directly with clients. Therefore excellent communication skills and a friendly, approachable manor are important. This is not a 'head down' / 'backroom' role, but rather the candidates will be an active and integral part of the overall project team delivering to our clients. Whilst this is primarily a development position, the role will involve elements of requirements gathering, design and planning.

You need to be self motivated, enthusiastic, flexible, have good time management skills and be capable of planning and working alone, and as part of team. They also need to be happy working within a deadline driven, pressured environment and as part of a high performing, focused and fun team.

Due to the nature of the business, on rare occasions some UK or International travel may be required.

  • Object Oriented PHP 5 Web Programming

  • HTML, JavaScript, CSS

  • Relational databases and SQL (ideally Oracle)

  • MVC frameworks

  • JavaScript frameworks and libraries (ideally jQuery), AJAX, JSON

  • Sufficient and relevant technical andcommercial experience (likely 2-4 years)
