Job Description

One of the UK's leading construction companies operating in the utility, transportation, power and infrastructure sectors. With over 50 years experience in the industry, the company continues to grow and expand into new areas across the UK.

The HSE Department is responsible for providing support and expert advice in order to ensure our employees are working safely, effectively and competently in line with business objectives.

Based at the Head Office in Harefield, you will be responsible for providing HSE technical and analytical capability to the business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Respond to requests for information on HSE matters from other parts of the Group.

  • Review and update technical and management documents.

  • Produce reports and analysis on company, regions, clients, departments and KPI's.

  • Issue and track information issued to contracts.

  • Collate and disseminate best practice information.

  • Occupational Health and administrative support.

  • Help develop and maintain a 'continual improvement' ethos in the approach to Safety, Health and Environmental issues.

  • Assist the business in focussing on delivering a safe and environmentally friendly working environment.

  • Help drive the development of safety, health and environment management systems and ensure dissemination of these principles through the DSA/DEA so that a standardised approach is adopted across the regions.

  • Manage timeframes and deliverables as agreed.

  • Help promote at every opportunity the organisation's health, safety and environmental performance.

  • Assist in driving organisational processes and cultures so that safety, health and environmental issues do not become a disqualifying function in the pursuit of business opportunities.

Essential Attributes:

  • Ability to analyse data, identify trends and produce reports.

  • Ability to work as part of team whilst using your own initiative.

  • Innovative thinker helping to generate and drive new ideas.

  • Ability to communicate at all levels using all available technology.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly in MS Excel.

  • Actively support a culture of continual improvement.

  • Continually strive for excellence through performance measurement.

  • Strong customer focus.

  • Degree in Computer Science, Economics or Mathematics or demonstrable experience in these areas.
