You will have specialist interests in poverty, inequality and exclusion in cities of the global South. Through this appointment SED seeks to advance its already strong reputation for developing new understandings of the processes of urbanism in the global South and identify practical means for intervening in / re-shaping these processes so that they contribute to human welfare and social justice.
You should be experienced in cross-disciplinary research and may come from a variety of disciplinary backgrounds (anthropology, architecture, development studies, economics, geography, planning, politics, sociology, urban studies etc).
