Job Description

Mechanical Design/CAD Engineer - West Sussex - £25-30kpa.

Our West Sussex based client design & manufacture high precision instruments for the oil & gas industry.

They require a Mechanical Design Engineer to translate customer requirements into manufacturing packages for use by purchasing & manufacturing.

Key Objectives and Responsibilities:-

· Actively participate in mechanical development projects providing support to the Projects Engineer and providing basic design calculations as required.

· Identify areas for improvement in existing mechanical design and implement effective solutions.

· Interpretation of client requirement specifications & the relevant industry standards such as ISI/BSI, ASME, API, NACE, DNV, NORSOK applied to the mechanical design, materials selection & welding/NDT processes.

· Generate drawings, parts lists, assembly instructions, materials (specifications, bar/billet/tube sizes and potential sources), subcontract process procedures (welding, coating etc).

Qualifications & Experience

· Up to date knowledge of materials and process standards as applicable to stainless steels

· CAD proficient (preferably AutoCad and/or Solidworks)

· Experience within a regulated industry or an industry that demands compliance to detailed specifications and standards

· Good Numeric, Analytical & Literacy skills

· Experience with machine shop processes (milling, turning, grinding etc.), pressure vessel codes and the Pressure Equipment Directive.

· Excellent Word and Excel skills
