Job Description

Position:Electrical/Electronic Design/Project Engineer

Location: Rotherham, South Yorkshire

Salary: up to £35k per annum

My client are a global business who design and manufacture specialist machines throughout the fmcg market.

Job Specification

Initial proposed functions:

  1. Be responsible for the electrical/electronic/software for standard system projects, including carrying out any design engineering requirements within those projects, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.

  2. Be responsible for installing the systems in the UK or overseas when required.

  3. Ensure that all electrical/electronic/software project and product documentation is kept up to date

  4. Assist the company chairman (who is also the current technical director) on new design projects, particularly with detail design work.

  5. Be responsible for ensuring the correct test procedures are setup and used correctly for all products

  6. Assist in the workshop assembling and testing of equipment when required.

Skills required:

  1. Qualified to HNC/degree level in an Electrical//Electronic/Mechatronic Engineering discipline, preferably with appreciation of software engineering.

  2. Be capable of designing electrical/electronic circuits

  3. Have a creative / design flair

  4. Experience of travel

  5. Be able to work under pressure and have a good working approach with customers and suppliers

Attitude

  1. Should have a thirst for new knowledge.

  2. Should be ambitious to achieve their own development goals and also the company’s aims

  3. Should have a strong enough character to deal with customer pressure and the stresses of working on-site and overseas.

Experience:

  1. Some years experience working in a large organisation gaining knowledge of business systems

  2. Ideally should have worked within a mechatronic engineering organisation, with some years experience of equipment design and related project management.

  3. Practical workshop experience
