Job Description

Transport Planner (Wakefield Distribution Centre) - 4th Largest Food Retailer Wakefield £Excellent + Benefits

We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and results focused Transport Planner on a days/late shift pattern (shifts will begin between 9.00am and 12.00pm).

Reporting to a Planning Manager, you will assist in the planning of operational schedules for store deliveries and primary collections for the composite site at Wakefield.

You will be able to demonstrate hands-on, operational experience within a fast paced, distribution environment.  You will be responsible for the following key duties:

> Planning and managing available resources to deliver a cost effective delivery service > Ensuring all deliveries and collections are in line with planned requirements > Analysing the plan v. actual schedules to understand areas of improvement > Maintaining compliance and conformance for safe working practices and working time regulations > Ensuring policies and procedures are followed at all times > Ensuring the completion of all associated records and reports and highlighting any inaccuracies, issues or complaints

You will have experience of planning a large and successful transport operation.  You will have excellent communication and analytical skills as well as experience of producing reports and using computerised systems.
