Job Description
Our client, a Sheffield based manufacturing company is looking to recruit a Production Control Manager to work within their Production Control/Planning and Procurement Team. Reporting directly to and supporting the Manufacturing Director you will be responsible for planning and scheduling of all resources [People, Materials, Labour & Machinery] ensuring products are manufactured in an efficient and effective manner
Lead and manage the production and procurement team in a proactive manner
Key support to the Manufacturing Director
Deputise for the Manufacturing Director when absent [i.e run the manufacturing side of the business]
Key driver of the business Manufacturing Resource Planning [MRP] system
Ensure that works orders, and any associated documentation, are produced in a timely manner to meet production targets
Proactive production planning and scheduling of resources utilising the MRP system
Ensure that materials are procured in a timely manner to support production
Work with the respective production “Team Leaders” to ensure production targets are met
Support the “External Resource Manager” as required once a “buy” decision has been made [buy = sub contract manufactured service or products]
Maintain & develop sub contractor data base for services and products [with External Resource Manager]
Ensure that there is a continuous cost reduction programme in place for year on year savings [targets to be agreed with Manufacturing Director]
Key Attributes / Skills:
Ideally a recognised Manufacturing/Production related qualification
Ideally from an industry related joinery or metalworking background
Ideally a minimum of 5 years production management experience
Ideally a minimum of 5 years MRP/Systems experience
Ideally have managed a team of at least 3 people
