Admin Assistant [Enhanced CRB required] - Children Schools & Families

What’s involved with this role:
To provide professional and customer-focused administrative and clerical support service to the required directorate. Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Draft routine correspondence and respond to basic requests for information from internal and external service users Receive and filter telephone calls, taking and distributing messages as appropriate.
Manage incoming and outgoing mail, including: logging, scanning, distribution, safe receipt of cheques and recorded delivery items.
Inputting data on electronic and manual filing and information systems
Assisting with the organisation of meetings and events
Producing and distributing of agendas Undertaking financial clerical duties, including: receipt and banking of cash, cheques and electronic payments, Raising requisitions, invoices and journal payments
Ensuring adequate stocks of stationery and publications are available, maintaining inventories to track stock levels, ordering and distributing new stock as required.
Ensuring office equipment (e.g. photocopiers, fax machines and printers) is well stocked and fully operational, taking appropriate steps to remedy any faults.

Minimum of 12 months office administration experience, preferably within a large (ideally public sector) organisation

Anticipated Length of Assignment: All of our roles are designated temporary, though in practice we find that the vast majority of them get extended on a multiple/long term basis. This one is expected to be for 3 months, initially.
Hours per week: 35-37 (tbc) Monday – Friday, normal working hours. You may be required to attend evening meetings or other out-of-hours events on occasion; reasonable notice will be given.
