A distributorship with the Book People is an ideal opportunity to set up and run your own business as a self-employed independent bookseller. The Book People will simply be a supplier of yours, giving you an exclusive territory to operate in, titles that are exclusive to the Book People in the direct sales industry and all the support you need to operate a successful and profitable business.
The concept is simple. We will supply you with a range of titles for you to visit customers in their workplace such as schools, hospitals and offices. Samples of 12-16 titles are left with customers for them to browse through and order. Orders are then delivered on collection of the samples a week later. It’s a service appreciated by many organizations and customers alike as we offer them the best titles on the market at massively reduced prices.
You will receive stock on a sale or return basis, where by you will need to account for any sales weekly and deduct an appropriate rate of trade discount then settle your invoice from us. It’s worth comparing this opportunity to that of a franchise, because we do not require a start-up fee, which reduces set-up costs to that of paying for a storage unit and a van.
The business is entirely yours, meaning that you take on the responsibility of the stock once you receive it.

Full training and on-going support will be given to welcome you into the Book People family. Your area manager will devote time and focus to you and your business passing on valuable knowledge and sales experience during your time with us.

Realistic earnings potential is £25,000 to £40,000 with a very realistic opportunity and scope to increase over time as your business grows.
You will require a van to operate your business with most distributors using a medium to long wheel base van. Many distributors have a van with a high roof allowing them to stand up and move about in the back freely.
